Aldith
Aldith is the capital city, a port at the mouth of the Ar-Aven on the northern coast. The centre of Aldith was re-built in the Imperial style from imported stone. A splendid royal palace dominates the centre, and there is also a bathhouse, several college buildings and temples both to the Denra-Lyr gods and to Imperial gods. Beyond the Imperial built section, Aldith reverts to the wooden buildings of the Denra-Lyr, and the stone-paved streets give way first to log-paved streets and then muddy tracks.

The Sacred Pools
There are many of these, swampy areas along the banks of the Ar-Aven. Transitional areas, places neither one thing nor another, are sacred to the Denra-Lyr. Gold is thrown into the sacred pools as a sacrifice, in great quantities. Greedy Imperial adventurers have tried to plunder the pools but they are deep, dark and dangerous.

The High Moor
Rising from the southern lands of Denra-Lyr, the High Moor overlooks the joining of the Ar-Aven and the Avengruid rivers. Legends say that this was once the last refuge of the mist giants that originally dwelled in these lands, and who were driven out by the hero Mann to make a place for his people to live. Vast standing stones encircle the plateau of the High Moor, whether to keep something in or out is unknown. Local tales tell of creatures of mist and shadow - the Moorswraiths - who can kill a man by drawing the heat from his body.

Mountain Passes
There are two main passes through the mountains to the Salsham'ai braashak forest. Amber Pass is the lowest, leading from Theen kingdom. This is the main overland trade route but has long been plagued by bandits. The castle of Dowin, a famous bandit lord from history, still stands. Dowin was killed long ago but occasionally a new self-styled bandit king sets up home here or elsewhere in the pass.

Fool's Pass leads from Ar-Breval kingdom and is considerably higher than Amber Pass. It is blocked during the winter but is quite passable during summer if you can stand the climb. Its more remote nature means that it is less prone to banditry than Amber Pass, but you are also more likely to meet strange monsters as well.
